Data from Stewards of Affordable Housing for the Future (SAHF) members demonstrates that resident services coordination is strongly associated with improved housing stability, financial security, and health outcomes, particularly during a period of elevated resident need and sustained economic strain.

These findings complement the Abt Global research, The Impact of Resident Services on Property Financial Performance, showing that service-enriched properties generate 26% higher Net Operating Income (NOI)—nearly $1,200 more per unit annually—than comparable properties without services. Taken together, this shows that service-enriched housing improves residents’ lives, strengthening the financial and operational health of affordable housing properties.

Along with this report, SAHF published 3 case studies on a few of its members, investigating how their service models impact their resident’s lives.
